About three and a half years ago, my family moved to a bigger house. I was really excited about it because, for the first time, we had a room that we could use as a dedicated playroom instead of having kids’ toys all over our living room. One of the first things I ordered for our new playroom was a Nugget Comfort couch.
If you’re not familiar with the Nugget, it’s a modular couch (and I’m using the word “couch” loosely here) that has three parts. There are two mattress type bases. Each is roughly the size of a twin size mattress, but one is slightly thinner and softer than the other. Each also folds in the middle.
In addition, each Nugget Comfort couch comes with two triangular shaped pillows that could be used as a backrest if you’re using the Nugget as a couch, but the Nugget is so much more than a kids’ couch.
If you own a Nugget, you probably know that it can be anything from a tent to a chair to a bed or an obstacle course or fort. That’s just the beginning. My husband and I have even been known to use the Nugget from time and time, and we’ve used it for sleepovers as well.
My kids are currently 4 and 8, and when we got it, they were 1 and 5. We used the Nugget all the time then, and we still use it practically every day now. The way we use it from one day to the other can be quite different, and the way my daughter uses it can be quite different than the way my son uses it.
There are so many different ways to arrange the nugget and so many different ways to use it that we’ve made several videos sharing just a few of the ways we use it.
There are many, many more ways to arrange The Nugget Comfort couch than we have shared here. It’s probably safe to say that there are endless ways to use it. If you’re going to buy a piece of children’s furniture, this truly is so much more than a couch and something that can grow with them for years to come.
While we only have one Nugget, I know there are even more ways to use the Nugget if you have two or more. My children are currently trying to talk me into getting them a second Nugget.
Besides being a piece of furniture that will grow with your children and get more use than you probably ever imagined, it’s also great because the cover comes in multiple different fabric options, and you can even remove the cover to clean it (because kids) or to switch it out for a different cover.
Do you have a Nugget? If so, how do your kids usually arrange it? If not, are you thinking about getting one? It makes a great gift idea!
